One of Stephanie’s projects examines the determinants of achievement of Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) targets within Ontario’s Conservation First Framework, with an emphasis on the characteristics of exemplary Local Distribution Companies (LDCs). Another one of Stephanie’s projects is focused on the energy performance gap in office buildings, particularly the motivations and barriers related to building managers’ engagement in sustainable practices within the commercial real estate sector.
Stephanie is a licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng.), and an Energy Council of Canada Energy Policy Research Fellow, at the Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy (WISE). Prior to commencing the doctoral degree, she worked for 10 years as an environmental consultant with both engineering and financial firms, managing and executing all aspects of environmental compliance and risk management projects related to federal and provincial air, water, and waste regulations, for industrial and commercial clients. Stephanie has also provided a broad range of assurance and advisory services such as GHG verification, sustainability report verification, assessment of environmental liabilities, and sustainability strategy development to clients in a range of industries, from major oil & gas producers, to multi-national retailers.
