In particular\, some Mapuche indigenous commu nities (the predominant ethnic group in Chile) live under these conditions at the south of the country. The challenge of this project is to determin e how to enhance the living conditions of Mapuche communities considering the socio-cultural traditions of these communities into the technological solution.\n\nThis presentation describes a methodology for the design and implementation of a microgrid which allows the energy supply for Mapuche i ndigenous communities.\n\n\nDr. Doris Sáez Hueichapan (S’93– M’96–SM’05) w as born in Panguipulli\, Chile. She received her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees i n electrical engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile \, in 1995 and 2000\, respectively. She is currently an Associate Professo r at the Department of Electrical Engineering\, University of Chile.\n\n\n Download the lecture notes\n\nView pictures from Dr. Sáez's Visit\n\n\n\n DTEND;TZID=Eastern Standard Time:20151117T113000 DTSTAMP:20151204T183958Z DTSTART;TZID=Eastern Standard Time:20151117T103000 LAST-MODIFIED:20151204T183958Z LOCATION:DC 1304 ORGANIZER;CN=Community Team via Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy:M AILTO:08898f31-39fc-4c7a-9548-72959cee045c.21@ca.igloosoftware.com SEQUENCE:5 SUMMARY:Design of A Participatory Model/Microgrid/Smart-Farm System for the Mapuche Indigenous Communities UID:08898f31-39fc-4c7a-9548-72959cee045c X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html;FMTTYPE=text/html:In Chile there exist several isolated indigenous communities without energy supply service.
