- Travel awards (2018): I receives a full travel support from Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure (NHERI) up to $2,500 for the participation in NHERI-the Summer Institute at the University Texas at San Antonio.

- Hojjat Adeli Award (2016): The paper, “Chul Min Yeum and Shirley J Dyke. Vision-Based Automated Crack Detection for Bridge Inspection. Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering 30, no. 10 (2015): 759–770” is selected as 2015 Hojjat Adeli Award for innovation in computing. It is awarded annually to the most innovative paper published in the previous volume/year or the most innovative single author, normally someone who has published more than one paper in the previous three years. - Admissions and Financial Aid at Purdue (2012-2016): I was offered a half-time graduate research assistantship in the School of Mechanical Engineering. The assistantship provides a salary of $2,000 per month and a waiver of tuition.
- Top 25 Hottest Articles (2011): I won the top 3 among the top 25 hottest article for 2011 full year through a paper entitled “Lamb wave mode decomposition using concentric ring and circular PZT Transducers”. The selection was completed based on the read and download articles.
- Undergraduate Research Program Award (2008): Under Prof. Sohn supervision, I received the Third Prize for the winter/spring undergraduate research program at KAIST in 2008 for his project entitled “Application of reference-free damage detection to composite aircraft structures: probabilistic damage localization using embedded piezoelectric sensor network”.
- Scholarships for outstanding students granted KAIST (2006-2008): The three prominent students in the civil engineering department of KAIST were selected as recipients as year. This scholarship provided $2,000 per year for three years.

- Safety manager in IISL lab (2013-2016): During my PhD years, I had been responsible for investigating and evaluating the safety of an experimental lab (IISL Lab) as a safe manager. Every semester, I conducted safety walkthrough with a lab manager at Bowen Laboratory and discussed about possible safety concerns. Also, I assessed a potential risk of special equipment or products for use.

This workshop provides tools and strategies for college instructions to make their classes more effective.
