American Chemical Society - Call for Papers
Microbial Fuel/Electrolysis Cells Session
Abstract Deadline October 18, 2010
Microbial Fuel/Electrolysis cells bring new capabilities and opportunities in the area of biocatalysis. Tremendous attention is being paid to energy-efficient wastewater treatment technologies, as energy security becomes our societal issue. Microbial fuel cell (MFC)-based technologies open up a new platform of bioenergy from biomass, as well as the development of new tools for understanding microbial catalysis. The goal of this session "Microbial Fuel/Electrolysis Cells" will be to share recent advances and new revenues in MFC-based technologies, ranging from fundamental understanding of biological/electrochemical processes to the development of new MFC technologies that can be implemented in large scale.
Abstracts are solicited for platform or poster presentation for this symposium. Please submit a short abstract (150 words) to the ACS Program and Abstract Creation System (PACS at http://abstracts.acs.org) by October 18, 2010 to be considered for a presentation. This is an excellent opportunity to make a timely contribution to the scientific community in MFC researches.
Any other inquiries should be directed to Prof. Hyung-Sool Lee: hyungsool@uwaterloo.ca or cit@asu.edu
