No energy source is free, and we must inform ourselves of the environmental impact of all our energy sources before we rush into untenable or excessively costly options. An energy sources debate is swirling through the society, and it is vital that this debate be informed by science, rather than by ideology, political expediency, or populist tactics.
Professors Maurice Dusseault and Steve Evans of Earth and Environmental Sciences will focus on the environmental impacts of various energy sources, and will try to quantify the relative benefits and risks for each of them.
This public lecture is presented by the University of Waterloo Faculty of Science and will take place on Tuesday, 22 April 2014 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM (EDT)
This is a free event, but please register by ordering a ticket here.
