An Environment and Energy Conference was held at CIGI in January, sponsored by WISE, CIGI, Natural Resources Canada, and IESO
Monday, January 24, 2011 - January 25, 2011
As the deployment of smart grid capabilities accelerates across North America, so do the possibilities to leverage these technologies to achieve climate change objectives. And, as with climate change issues in general, the implementation of smart grids cuts across local, provincial, state and national borders. This workshop brings together leaders in government, business, academia and non-profits to start the discussion about the relationship between smart grids, climate change and the governance issues that emerge as a result.
This event supports the efforts of the US-Canada Clean Energy Dialogue to promote a more efficient electricity grid based on clean, renewable generation and demand response. The venue, the Centre for International Governance Innovation in Waterloo, Ontario will offer an informal environment for leaders from both sides of the border to share, discuss and debate the evolution of the smart grid and its implications on broader societal objectives.
CIGI, 57 Erb Street West, Waterloo, ON N2L 6C2, Canada
