Government of Ontario officially launches its new Collaboration Voucher Program
The Government of Ontario has officially launched its new Collaboration Voucher Program.
This is an exciting new approach to connecting Ontario companies with the province's world-leading research institutions to improve productivity, performance and competitiveness.
As you may be aware, Ontario's Ministry of Research and Innovation has asked Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) to manage this program on its behalf. We are very pleased to be part of this forward-thinking initiative which will drive increased industry-academic collaborations and provide more experiential learning opportunities for students.
Under the program, eligible Ontario companies receive a voucher, which is a credit that they can redeem for expertise and resources from Ontario universities, colleges and research hospitals to advance productivity and commercialization. Our Business Development Managers at OCE will be working closely with eligible companies to identify potential academic partners and guide all parties through the application process.
This approach is seen as contributing to a greatly enriched research, commercialization and learning environment. Researchers will gain access to exciting new research challenges and new relationships with industry. Those who are part of developing a market-viable technology will be supported by OCE's Business Development Managers in navigating the path from research to the marketplace. Students will gain more real-world experience in solving industry problems and build valuable relationships with established companies as well as OCE's industry and entrepreneurial networks.
This new initiative greatly enhances the suite of programs offered through OCE. Full details of the new program are now available on the OCE website including the four types of collaboration vouchers, eligibility requirements and key dates associated with the application process. Please visit our website for details at www.oce-ontario.org/vouchers.
If you have any questions about the Collaboration Voucher Program, you will find contact information on the website or feel free to contact Tania Massa, OCE's Director of Programs at Tania.massa@oce-ontario.org
