Mindfirst Seminar Series: Post-election Energy Update
Abstract
Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne took office in February, 2013. With a minority government Premier Wynne continued and expanded the renewables, sustainability and innovation driven energy policies initiated by the previous administration and through the subsequently released Long Term Energy Plan (LTEP). With the recent election of a majority government many planners and executives are hoping for a renewed stability that will allow them to better focus on long term planning.
Will Kathleen Wynne and the Liberals stay the course as written in the LTEP, or will they use their new majority to further change Ontario's energy mix? Len Kula and a panel of industry experts will discuss the most recent recent developments including an update on the 50 MW energy storage RFP. Many observers believe that the coming summer weeks will allow the government time to articulate new directions and possible changes in the way energy infrastructure is managed. This panel will discuss the impact on implementation of energy related announcements.
