Student Presentation Opportunity
A message from Members of the Waterloo Region community and local environmental magazine A\J:
Members of the Waterloo Region community and local environmental magazine A\J are collaborating to produce an all-night-long festival in downtown Kitchener in late autumn. Night\Shift 2013 a pilot version of what will ideally become an annual festival, with the intention of building on a success inaugural celebration of the night.
We'll be assembling contributions and creations from a diverse range of local artists, media and research labs, maker-spaces, technologists, students and student groups, musicians and small businesses. The event will be spread throughout various indoor and outdoor locations within a few blocks of downtown.
Our goal is to attract attendees from many different parts of the Kitchener-Waterloo community to come out after dark explore an unconventional showcase of arts, technology and nightlife activities on foot. The proposed theme of Night\Shift 2013 is "Intervention," and it would begin at sundown on Friday, November 2nd until the wee hours.
We're looking for community of students and student groups from University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, such as the Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy, to contribute projects and activities to be showcased in various locations. This event will be extensively promoted through conventional and social media channels, on campuses and through local arts organizations, and at other A\J events.
